About Blue Alice

Blue Alice was crafted by designer Kara Gibson-Guyitt’s desire to create a unique design experience that starts with a focus on relationship building. She enjoys taking the time to get to know her clients, building communication and trust to ensure the homeowners vision will be expertly designed and professionally executed.

There’s a personal connection with the name, Blue Alice. Alice was Kara’s grandma who was a business woman before her time in the fashion industry and Blue is an elemental colour that inspires Kara; from the lake, to the sky, to the new denim shirt in her closet.

Based in Kelowna and with a focus on residential renovations and new home design, Kara’s approach is to have her clients involved in the process early on. Together, they will explore their ultimate design vision while Kara brings her years of experience and knowledge to the design. The goal of each project is to encourage each client to live their best lives in their homes.

About Designer, Kara

Designer – Wife – Mom – Golfer – Denim Shirt Lover

Kara’s design journey started early. She began college with the intent of being a sports psychologist, but soon realized that would never give her a creative outlet. She read the course guide for “Interior Design & Architecture” and changed her path. This path then led her to a fulfilling career spanning over 2 provinces and 17 years. After 12 years at a prominent design firm and most recently as Head designer of Love It or List It Vancouver Season 5, this new venture is designed and planned with love.

She finds inspiration in everything around her: sunsets, water, travel, her family. Her designs range in style from modern to farmhouse to rustic, all based on her client’s desire. When she is not designing she cherishes time with her son, Witten, and husband, Jason, and enjoys golf, travel and reading.
